Near the Daewoo shipyard in Korea. Theirs has an extra weight system on a dolly at the rear. Lifting 400t at 130m Hook

Its good lift. But in case two flat canvass slings would have been
better handling, keeping cg of car in centre. Any way the car is lifted safely.

Lifting with muliple cranes is a very tricky operation.
All the calculations need to be woked out precisely
and loading on each crane has to be identified.

Lifting ith multiple cranes is potential hazards.

In India New Delhi, We noted a similr accident
as in Australia. It is unfortunate that people
in this industry sometime takes a casual
approach, which proves to be dangerous.

I personally spent about 35 yrs in desigining
and operated Heavy Lifts in Indian sub-continent.
Fortuntely things have gone OK so far. Because
the designer of such lifts is supposed to know
and visualise the operation before the lift.

Dear Mr.Khanna,

I completely agree with you. Lifting with one, two or more cranes requires careful planning and a detailed liftplan, in which the forces in each crane are calculated beforehand. During the lifting proces it is important to monitor these forces as well. In my Master Class (previously called Seminar) "Heavy Transport & Lifting" I do present methods of how multiple crane lifts can be carried out safely.
The next Master Class "Heavy Transport & Lifting" will be on the 15th +16th of October 2010 in Houston.
Executing a multiple crane lift requires skilled operators, monitoring equipment and last but not least an very experienced banksman, who instructs the crane operators what to do. This apparently was not the case in the unfortunate accidents in the Delhi Metro lifts.

Come an join in and you will learn all about how to control the forces acting on a load, during transport & Lifting.
